MOBI Grand Challenge

The ultimate goal of the the MOBI Grand Challenge is to create the first viable, decentralized, ad-hoc network of blockchain connected IoT and smart infrastructure that can reliably share data, participate in transactions, coordinate behavior, and thereby improve human mobility. See MOBI Grand Challenge rules.

MGC Phase I

The goal of the first phase was to demonstrate the pieces of the blockchain/DLT Mobility puzzle that can be addressed today. Phase one ran from October 12th, 2018 to January 10th, 2019 beginning with a launch in New Mexico and culminating in finalist presentations and a public demonstration of selected technologies at an event hosted by the BMW Group, a MOBI community member, in Munich Germany on February 15th, 2019.

MGC Phase II

Building on the success of Phase I, Phase II – Citopia – explored new solutions for human mobility to create smarter and greener cities while improving quality of life. MGC envisions a tokenized Citopia ecosystem where city governments work with employers, schools, universities, and local businesses to create incentives for changing behavior to build smarter cities.
