The Connected Mobility Data Marketplace colloquium, co-organized by the Crypto Valley Association (CVA) and MOBI, held on 29 October 2020, explored the convergence of AI, IoT, Blockchain, Mobility, and Smart Cities to build the New Economy of Movement, a new trust ecosystem for human mobility that fosters and promotes innovation. A variety of topics were featured which gave our audience expert insight on what’s next in the worlds of mobility and blockchain technology, and how they intersect with smart city initiatives. On the eighteenth of February 2020, MOBI hosted MoCo Berlin at Factory Berlin Görlitzer Park, in collaboration with the Daimler Mobility Blockchain Factory, Bosch, MHP, and Riddle and Code. Considering the role of emerging technology in the public conversation around data, Berlin served as a relevant and thriving location for introducing the New Economy of Movement. On 12-13 November 2019, MOBI hosted MoCo Los Angeles, bringing trust to smart cities by hosting panels with key mobility stakeholders, public officials, and tech innovators, as well as demonstrating the latest IoT, AI, and blockchain technology, including the first-ever multi-stakeholder car wallet demo. Our first India based MOBI Colloquium was on May 23, 2019 in New Delhi. This event was part of a three-day Smart Cities India expo. Smart mobility is an integral piece of the smart cities puzzle and due to India’s rapidly growing population, their government is beginning to invest in major infrastructure programs to modernize select cities across the country. IBM hosted MOBI’s first APAC Colloquium at their headquarters in Shanghai, China. A total of 20 speakers and 130+ attendees came together to explore the current state of blockchain research and development in China and share MOBI’s mission with other international organizations. China’s massive influence on the automobile and mobility industry is not only a product of population, but also of their highly robust transportation systems and the rapidly accelerating technological innovations in transportation. The first European MOBI Colloquium was held in Munich in February 2019. MOBI provided updates on key working groups, announced the winners of Stage One of the MOBI Grand Challenge (MGC), spoke on the future direction of MOBI and the MGC, and more. The BMW Group gave attendees an inside look into the blockchain and distributed ledger use cases they are focusing on.
